Behind The Scenes At Charity Buddy

Charity Buddy is all about helping animal welfare organisations achieve more by offering pro bono support with business activities and processes. In addition, behind the scenes, at our farm in Surrey, we have a number of geriatric animals that we provide sanctuary care for. We also help to re-home animals wherever possible. Often, the animals that we help are the ones that are no longer fit for purpose. It’s heartbreaking to know that as a nation many of us are so quick to discard animals as if they were a commodity and not a sentient being.

We love the business side of our charity, but it is lovely to be hands-on too. Looking after the ‘oldies’ in our care gives us immense pleasure.

This year has been hard for many animal welfare organisations due to the complete lack of government support in the sector and the huge restrictions placed on typical fundraising events and activities due to Covid. Closer magazine has highlighted this issue and has kindly featured our sanctuary in this week’s edition (8th Dec 2020).

We have a great deal of work to do in 2021, including the implementation of a national pet adoption platform that aims to make pet adoption the first choice, by bringing together the available animals for adoption into an easy to find ‘one-stop-shop’. We are grateful to everyone who donates to help us to continue to help animals. All donations received are directly spent on animal welfare activities, and will make a positive difference to their lives. Thank you!
